The mansion which houses Villa Cornelia was built in 1892 by Alfred M. Smart, a prominent businessman and President of Ontario Loan and Debenture. The house ranks among London's finest examples of Queen Anne architecture. It was meticulously restored to its original beauty and splendor in 1987-1988. In 1988 the house was designated as an architectural heritage property. Villa Cornelia is a place to relax, to reflect upon our past, to appreciate the gracious elegance of Victorian architecture, and to enjoy the delights of fine continental cuisine.

As a group of four, we had a relaxing afternoon tea at Villa Cornelia on February 29, 2020. From the moment we entered to the moment we left, the staff were welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is quiet and inviting for enjoying your meal and conversation in a relaxing environment. There was a generous variety of sweet and savoury items that were top notch in flavour and presentation. A nice selection of premium teas is available to enjoy. We look forward to returning for another afternoon tea or for lunch or dinner.
